The term
ribbon refers to the fact that the cutting loops on these tools are
made of flattened metal ribbons with sharpened edges. Ribbon tools are used
for cutting, shaping, trimming and hollowing both wheel-thrown and
sculptural forms. All the tools below consist of smooth hardwood handles
with high-strength steel ribbons held firmly by brass ferrules. Available in
a wide variety of shapes and sizes for all types of clay work, these are
