Spectrum Bulk Glazes
Our bulk glazes come in 5-gallon
pails for large studios and schools. All 5 Gallon Pails are
formulated for dipping application.

Dinnerware safe. Contains no lead or cadmium ingredients. Certified AP
Non-Toxic and conforms to ASTM D-4236
(2)
Dinnerware safe. Contains some heavy metals and/or cadmium compounds but
passes test for lead and cadmium release.
(3)
Contains no lead or cadmium ingredients. May invite bacterial growth due
to glaze fissures. Not recommended for surfaces which contact food or
drink. Certified AP Non-Toxic.
(5)
Dinnerware safe.
Contains no lead. Contains encapsulated cadmium pigment. Certified AP
Non-Toxic and conforms to ASTM D-4236.

Bailey recommends glazes marked “(1)A” as most suitable for use
with young children.
Ø K-6:
These glazes carry an ACMI CL "Cautions Required"
label. Although they may be Lead-Free, they are not AP Non-Toxic
due to other material content and are restricted from school use with
children from Pre-K thru Grade 6.
Warning none of these
products should be taken internally; all contain ingredients not suitable
for ingestion or inhalation

An Important Note:
Any glaze, underglaze,” Base”, etc. that is Lead-Free, A.P.
Non-Toxic or Dinnerware Safe is labeled according to tests on
its own individual formula; however, once anything is added to it (Stain,
Oxide, Frit, etc.), a “new” formula is created which must be
retested to determine its safety. All 5 Gallon Pails are formulated for dipping
application.
