Montana, and have been involved with art all of my life. I
have been throwing pottery on the wheel for about 12 years (I
actually use a Bailey wheel). The name of the business is Montana
Earth and Fire. I am also an art teacher for our elementary school.
This is my 24th year of teaching. Before Christmas, about 225

I am a watercolorist new to pottery. Among the photos, I have
included one at my outdoor work area getting ready to try out the
new Bailey Mini Might Slab Roller. I have also included a photo of a
set of what I call my “Carp Pots” taken at a recent pottery

“newbie” and have never looked back. I have had lots of

will be buying some new kiln shelves. Bailey’s high alumina
kiln shelves have been an essential part of my process. Before
I began using Bailey’s shelves in my kiln, I fought warped and
broken shelves on a weekly basis. The shelves in my kiln right
now have survived over 50 cone 11 firings with 5 hour soaks between
1900 and 2000 degrees. The crystalline glazing process is hard
on kilns and shelf’s so I try to get the most durable and reliable
